MTVDC Barber Shop Youth Cuts: Perceptions vs. Reality

MTVDC had the opportunity to engage with our youth and gain some knowledge from their point of view regarding their view on perceptions of their communities versus the reality of what youth are experiencing in their community. Youth Ambassador Deonte Isaac was able to provide youth with haircuts while the conversation took place. ❤️

Stop the Bleed Training December 2022

“Stop the Bleed” training. This training is very essential to know the procedures to stop heavy bleeding of gunshot/stab victims. Although we pray to never have to use these skills, we now have the knowledge to potentially save the life of a victim. We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. James D. Wallace, M.D. as well as Sean Thompson-El, M.A. Clinical research manager for the the Community Violence Intervention Program from the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. They provided outstanding training and were very informative and hands on. Thank you for an amazing and organized training!
